Purple Bloom

Regular price $920.00

In the spring season, purple wild iris cover the hills and valleys everywhere; astounding gems amongst the myriad of wild flowers adorning the soon to be dry country. Birds and butterflies glide joyfully amongst the flowers on the hills of Jerusalem, and in my beloved garden, where much of my inspiration is born, there is a joyful new energy of life and optimism. This lush pallet is my inspiration for this Ketubah.

The name Iris is derived from the Greek word Rainbow. Because of the richness and diversity of colors and shapes of the Iris in nature, many cultures give it deep symbolisms such as wisdom, hope, trust, and valour. The Iris of the human eye- the window to the soul- shares the same root.

The colors that dominate this Ketubah are Purple, which symbolizes Royalty and Wisdom, and  Blue, which symbolizes Faith and Hope.

The quotations that are written in Micrography in each flower are taken from the Song of Songs, the Bible and from the prayer book.

One such example:

"Set me as a seal upon your heart, upon your hand. For love is strong as death.." from the 'Song of Songs ' 8' 6 7 .

in the flowers are the words:

Love, Happiness, Life, Peace, Creativity, Giving, Devotion, Understanding, Friendship, Cooperation, Blessing and Light.  The essence and meaning of life together.
